For those owners whose mount has a SynScan hand controller, this functionality is available out of the box. Prior to SynScan V3.01, the hand controller had to be placed in a special serial mode for this to work. From SynScan V3.01 onwards the hand controller is always in serial mode, and is always ready to talk with a serial connection. In this mode, the SynScan unit provides the alignment and goto algorithms and must be configured with time, date and location. Some planetariums may provide native support for EQMOD ASCOM drivers others may require the use of the ASCOM platform and associated ASCOM Drivers
